Inspired by The Nutcracker ballet, and its many movie adaptations including Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, I wanted to capture the magic of Christmas in this drawing. Clara holds the Nutcracker in front of red theater curtains that open up to a winter wonderland. The story holds a sense of nostalgia, wonder, and excitement of Christmas for me, as I’m sure it does for many others!
